In depth

Verdict

Elounda and Pugnacious Lady have both shown promise and have to be respected but it is hard to get away from Fantastic Morning, who gets the vote. The selection showed improved form when stepped up to 1m2f at Beverley last time, should appreciate the extra two furlongs here even more and a reproduction of last time out form should suffice. Tropical Strait ran promisingly on his only start in a bumper and has to be of interest on his debut under flat racing rules, while Winter Lane has given little cause of optimism so far. Henry Cecil's Elounda may do better now encountering a softer surface, while similar comments apply to the John Hills-trained Pugnacious Lady. Fantastic Morning has solid claims though and he gets the vote.
