CAPTAIN COOL can again come good in what may well develop into a test of stamina, while Mediterranean Sea, Oriental Girl and Le Corvee are also short-listed. The last-named has won two of his last three, a Lingfield handicap and, from 3lbs higher, a similar contest at Brighton last time. The latter was an apprentices' race and so he comes here unpenalised and with strong claims. Mediterranean Sea has a pedigree that suggests that today's ground may suit, although she has so far proved far from convincing over this distance, so we will oppose. Oriental Girl acts with cut but has failed to get home twice over 10f recently, so she has to be a doubtful stayer tonight, and preference is for Captain Cool. Richard Hannon's charge has a 1m 6f win to his name and will want to make this into a real test of stamina. He is unproven on ground softer than good on turf, though being by Captain Rio he may well act on it, and we will side with him.
