In depth
Verdict
All eyes will be on Syncopation on his debut with Skiff looking the best of those to have raced so far. Roger Charlton's representative is a half-brother to a couple of 1m2f winners and there is plenty of blue blood in his veins as the dam was a middle-distance winner in France and a grand-daughter of Irish 1,000 Guineas winner Sarah Siddons. If he is of any account, he should not be opposed here. Skiff finished second at odds of 50/1 at Bath and has now officially received a BHB rating of 75. He has given the impression that he should stay twelve furlongs. Brunston Castle and Milly Hatch have shown little on their previous outings and look difficult to fancy even in a field of this size. Having considered the evidence, the claims of Syncopation look very difficult to get away from.
