This looks a cracking contest, despite the small field. Emir Sacree hasn’t done a lot wrong over fences so far but a cosy victory over track and trip last month will have done TILE TAPPER the world of good and he still looks well handicapped. The Widdow Maker can only improve on his victory at Exeter while The Edgar Wallace beat a couple of subsequent winners at Market Rasen in November. Yes Indeed has been lightly raced since arriving from France and should also have more to offer.
The Widdow Maker 9-2 (11-0) Towards rear, headway to lead before 3rd, in control when mistake 2 out, pushed along flat, ran on well, won at Exeter 2m 3f (3) sft in Feb beating Coconut Splash (11-0) by 4 3/4l, 7 ran.
Yes Indeed (FR) 11-1 (11-9) Held up in last pair, headway out wide chasing leaders 8th, not fluent next, challenged going well 4 out, led last, headed and found no extra run-in, 2nd of 6, 4 1/4l behind Nestor Park (11-6) at Newbury 2m 6f hcp (3) sft in Feb.
The Edgar Wallace (IRE) 7-2 (11-6) Made most, mistake 8th, pushed along 3 out, stayed on well, reduced lead towards finish, won at Market Rasen 2m 5f hcp (3) gd in Nov beating Orrisdale (11-3) by 1l, 5 ran.
Emir Sacree (FR) 11-8 (11-5) Jumped left at times, led, headed 5 out, chased winner, awkward and no impression 2 out, went left and lost 2nd at the last, no extra in 3rd run-in, last of 3, 5 1/2l behind New Age Dawning (10-9) at Ffos Las 2m 5f hcp (3) hvy in Jan.
Tile Tapper 4-1 (11-7) Jumped right at times, tracked leaders, challenged 5th, led before 3 out, drew clear and edged left before last, easily, won at Chepstow 2m 3f hcp (4) hvy in Feb beating Caswell Bay (10-12) by 7 1/2l, 10 ran.
