SIR IKE is our call at the expense of Amber Ridge and Prince Rossi. The selection has become a touch in-and-out from a formbook perspective and while it is a severe worry that no win has been recorded as yet, the break after a long spell on the all-weather may have helped and he has ran well at this track before off a higher mark. Amber Ridge has put up two solid performances at this grade and looks sure to be thereabouts. Prince Rossi has become something of a course specialist. A winner off marks of 51 and 57, it remains to be seen as to whether he can repeat the dose off tonight's mark of 61. Libre is back to a winnable mark and while he doesn't win that often, the market has been spot on when he has got it right. Addiena ran lamentably at Wolverhampton last time out though had been in sparkling form at this track last summer. Charles Darwin seemed to cope with a step up to a mile at Lingfield. Previously a six furlong specialist, he was listed class a couple of seasons ago. Tignello was a beaten favourite at Windsor. He has had a couple of opportunities off similar marks but worryingly lost his action close home last time up. Jay Gee Wigmo drops in trip having not stayed 1m4f last time. Red Suede Shoes shaped with some promise in a couple of Lingfield maidens. Chatanagoochoochoo appears to need fast ground so connections will be keen to miss any precipitation. Plenty of imponderables so a minimum stakes play about Sir Ike is the advice.
