with leaders, ridden 2f out, weakened 1f out
held up in touch, not clear run 2f out, ridden and edged left 1f out, ran on
led until headed over 2f out, weakened inside final furlong
held up, ridden over 2f out, ran on near finish
stumbled start, behind, headway over 1f out, never on terms
held up, headway over 2f out, ridden and hung left over 1f out, weakened inside final furlong
bumped start, held up in touch, ridden over 1f out, one pace final furlong
with leaders, led over 2f out, headed just over 1f out, no extra well inside final furlong
hampered start, held up, headway over 1f out, ran on well inside final furlong, edged right near finish, not reach winner
always prominent, ridden to lead just over 1f out, driven out
behind, ridden over 1f out, staying on when not clear run inside final furlong
mid-division, ridden over 1f out, never dangerous
went right start, prominent until ridden and weakened over 1f out
held up in touch, lost place over 2f out, stayed on again inside final furlong
slowly into stride, always behind
Another wide open handicap here for punters to fathom with little between many of the leading rivals but the principals look to be Davids Mark, Cerulean Rose and Redwood Star and the tentative vote goes to Davids Mark. The selection was a good second behind On The Trail off this mark last time out and under similar conditions and from a good draw he is taken to win this. Cerulean Rose rates the main danger on her latest fourth behind Hout Bay but that was on softer ground and for that reason she is opposed. Redwood Star is another worthy of respect h e was a fair third behind Moltov last time and that form has since been franked but his best form is over a longer trip. Moritat was a fair third behind Yorkies Boy last time and is another with place claims but he is far from consistent and can not be backed with any confidence. Of the remainder Pulse is on a handy mark and is from a yard in form so is worth noting in the market but for the winner we return to Davids Mark.
