The Gaikwar, Chief Exec and Red Rudy make it onto the short list here, with our vote going to Chief Exec. Six pounds better off for the length and a quarter that Red Rudy beat him here over seven furlongs last time, Chief Exec, who is due to go up by two pounds in future ratings, holds clear claims if he can repeat that run here over this longer trip. Red Rudy is not without a chance. The race he won last time was the same race that he had won the year before. Much as he did not win afterwards, he ran pretty well in his follow-up race and a good run is not ruled out. The Gaikwar comes here on the back of a good Goodwood effort and, due to go up by a pound in future ratings and racing from just a pound above his course and distance winning mark of May, his chance is there for all to see. Of the others, Dancing Storm is on a course and distance winning mark from July 2006 - although she was prior to her latest run too, Batchworth Blaise, who is fairly well-handicapped on the face of things as he is due to go up by eight pounds following an improved Salisbury effort (although he is six pounds out of the weights here), and Corrib would have a chance if that latest improved effort from him can be fully trusted. Our choice, though, is Chief Exec.
