PRIVATE BE can make amends for the misfortune that befell him in last year's renewal. A multitude of dangers include Fier Normand and Lord Ryeford. Patman Du Charmil and Yes Sir are both handicapped to play a part in the finish but there are sufficient reasons aplenty to oppose both charges whilst Ouzbeck and Alphabetical have both improved for the ubiquitous wind operations but will find this a sterner test. Sou'Wester hasn't looked back since joining the Tizzards but has plenty to prove in this company from his revised mark so we'll be looking elsewhere. One time Hennessy hopeful Bible Lord must be worthy of consideration as must Fier Normand who was showing progressive form over fences in the first half of last season. He arguably has the beating of Lord Ryeford on a tentative form line from last July but Tom George's charge has continued to progress through the summer months and isn't underestimated. Private Be may be overlooked given last year's form figures but he was travelling like a winner in this race until being brought down two from home and nothing went right for him after that. The handicapper could have been kinder as the selection has only been dropped by a pound for the two poor runs but he has the potential to win from this mark and it's worth taking the chance that Phillip Hobbs has got Private Be back to his best.
