PAISLEY PARK (NAP) is fancied to regain his crown. He failed to fire when only seventh last year but that was a rare failure from the 2019 winner, who came with his customary late charge to overturn Newbury form with Thyme Hill in the Long Walk at Ascot last time when Younevercall was fourth and Main Fact tailed off. Sam Spinner, runner-up two years ago, has a lot prove at present but defending champion Lisnagar Oscar looks to be peaking again at just the right time following a second in a Grade 2 at Haydock when he was conceding weight all round. Most of the Irish raiders ran in the Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown. Flooring Porter did best ahead of The Storyteller, Sire Du Berlais, Fury Road and Bacardys but it would be no surprise if Mark Walsh’s mount came out top of that quintet today being a dual winner of the Pertemps Final over track and trip and successful in a Grade 2 at Navan on his reappearance this season. If The Cap Fits and Vinndication have been chasing but both are strong stayers who could run into a place.
