This has attracted the biggest field of the day and it looks wide-open, though Long House Hall stayed on strongly into second in the Coral Cup here last month and will appreciate the return to a longer trip – the third franked that form at Aintree last Saturday. Peter Bowen's stable is back in form and the fairly-treated Rolling Maul has been hinting at a revival. Sugar Baron won at Doncaster last month and Fingerontheswitch was successful at the same course a month earlier and came up against a well-handicapped rival next time at Haydock. Ten Sixty's novice form stands up to scrutiny and he holds Ballyhenry on Kempton running – he should be thereabouts if lasting home. But no-one could begrudge SIR IVAN a first victory of the campaign as he's been running well on going that was probably a little softer than ideal. This first try over 3m will suit on breeding, though a further 5lb jump in the weights is a bit of a worry.
