In depth

Verdict

Beatthebullet finished fourth in the National Hunt Chase at The Festival here in March but was tailed off and pulled up in both subsequent starts. Jimmy The Digger and Anightinlambourn finished 1-2 in a similar contest here last month and should be prominent again, though the former was beaten six lengths by Bobhopeornohope at Ludlow at the end of last season. Silver In Disguise, visored here, will have needed his run at Sedgefield and today’s softer surface will suit. He might be staying on when others have cried enough with a strong pace likely while Castle Robin ran well for a long way at Kelso three weeks ago and is another who will strip fitter here. Henry De Bromhead’s Brave Way arrives on a hat-trick while Punitive and VALSHEDA remain unexposed. The latter found plenty for pressure at Ffos Las in March and a 4lb rise looks fair.
