Victory Wave may have won a tougher contest over 7f here last month but Saeed bin Suroor’s mare carries a huge burden in this and AGINCOURT can take advantage. The latter took another step forward when winning at York last time and there looks more to come from David O’Meara’s filly despite a 4lb rise. Elysium Dream went close at Brighton last week but has a bit to prove at this level while Octave continues to struggle and Romola is preferred with last month’s comeback run at Doncaster under her belt.
Victory Wave (USA) 11-4 (9-3) Tracked leaders, led inside final furlong, ran on, won at Chelmsford City 7f hcp (2) pol in May beating Raucous (9-7) by 2 1/4l, 6 ran.
Agincourt (IRE) 6-1 (9-9) Prominent, led over 1f out, headed entering final furlong, kept on, led again post, won at York 7f hcp fll (3) gf in May beating Starlight Romance (9-12) by ns, 15 ran.
Elysium Dream 5-2 (9-6) Tracked leaders, ridden over 1f out, hung left and ran on inside final furlong, went 2nd final 100 yards, not reach winner, 2nd of 4, 3/4l behind Key Player (9-3) at Brighton 7f hcp (4) gf in May.
Octave (IRE) 33-1 (8-4) In touch when badly hampered soon after start and dropped to rear, never a factor after, 13th of 14, 15 1/4l behind Beatboxer (8-11) at Haydock 1m hcp (2) gf in May.
