The progressive MADEEH notched a four-timer over the extended 1m4f at Newcastle with his latest success. This looks less competitive and, despite a further 5lb rise, the longer trip is not a problem. El Salvaje finished closer upped to 1m4f at Lingfield last time and looks the main danger to the selection though Raymond may do better back on this surface and is preferred to Ship Of The Fen.
Madeeh 2-1 (8-9) Steadied and switched left start, held up in rear, closer out wide 3f out, chased leaders 2f out, led over 1f out, came clear inside final furlong, stayed on well, won at Newcastle 1m 4f hcp (3) pol in Mar beating Arabic Culture (9-0) by 2 3/4l, 6 ran.
Raymond (IRE) 8-1 (11-9) Mid-division, ridden and outpaced after 3 out, hampered by the faller 2 out, soon weakened, 8th of 15, 27 1/4l behind Iolani (10-12) at Musselburgh 2m hcp (2) gs in Mar.
Ship Of The Fen 150-1 (9-1) Held up towards rear, struggling over 2f out, no impression, 8th of 11, 8 1/2l behind Arij (9-10) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp (4) pol in Mar.
El Salvaje 7-1 (9-12) In touch, pushed along 4f out, ridden over 1f out, kept on final furlong, not trouble leaders, 5th of 10, 2 1/2l behind Monsaraz (9-9) at Lingfield 1m 4f hcp (5) pol in Mar.
