Spirit of Coniston is our selection in the finale although Baybshambles, Kings College Boy and Jadan are all likely to have their supporters. The selection was beaten by Baybshambles when the pair met in an apprentices' race but with stronger handling assured this afternoon, he could be worth a chance to reverse that form. Ordinarily stall one would be a good draw but the recent evidence has seen the runners take a middle course at Catterick. Kings College Boy invariably runs his race. He hasn't appeared to like being ridden closer to the pace of late but the handicapper has dropped him 3lb of late. Jadan has bags of speed and deserved a recent victory at Ayr. Rain would suit. Similarly, Rue Soleil is another for whom rain would help. The McCabe stable have sent out a number of recent sprint winners so No Time would have to be factored into the race despite a poor post position. High Reach takes a welcome drop in trip but the draw has been unkind. One or two of the usual suspects here and Spirit Of Coniston gets the nod.
