Just one three-year-old, SOLAR VIEW, is entered here but he should beat his older rivals. Sir Mark Prescott's charge scored twice over 2m before nearly defying a big weight over an extra furlong at Pontefract where he idled in front. All of those races were on fast ground but he'd run well over an inadequate trip on soft going earlier and can return to winning ways. The veteran Bijou Dan was well beaten in this a year ago but is in better form now and was only just touched off by Dr Finley at Thirsk a couple of weeks ago. He'll make a bold bid to gain his 15th success on his 97th start. Strikemaster won here in October before completing a double at Musselburgh but he's struggled at the weights as a consequence while the remainder are basically plodders with only Shirls Son Sam looking to have a bit of scope.
