LUCKY DAN was quite impressive when scoring at Chester and with a plumb draw around this quirky track he is the pick ahead of Green Park and Solar Spirit. Paul Green's four-year-old arrived late on the scene to burst through and win going away over 5f at the Roodee, for which he has gone up 5lbs. He already has a fast ground 6f Hamilton win to his name and so this trip won't be a problem, and with his pitch towards the inside he has plenty going for him. Green Park is 1lb higher than when just edged out by Gap Princess here last time and the fast ground will suit, though a wide draw is not going to help his cause. Solar Spirit has proved hard to win with since scoring at Pontefract on just his second career start. John Quinn's five-year-old went close last time at Thirsk, however, and he is far from a no-hoper today. The ground looks to be a bit quick for Haajes, but if the rains have come before racing then his chance would certainly be enhanced, though we will stick with Lucky Dan.
