The betting will be of vital importance in this finale but without that information we will side with Mick Easterby's Ridgeline, whilst support for newcomers Ballabrook and Peters Pride would be worth heeding. The selection made a pleasing racecourse debut when third at Carlisle, and he has been given a fair break of 87 days to get over that run on testing ground. Hampered in the closing stages that day, the gelding showed a fair bit of promise and if fit enough today should give a good account. Pinch Me Silver, newcomer Falcon's Gunner and Emily's Flora represent a trainer who knows the time of day with his bumper horses so should be watched closely in the market for sign of confidence. Peter's Pride looks the most interesting of the debutantes, his trainer Alan Swinbank had a well-touted winner last week and any support should be heeded, whilst Ballabrook represents a trainer in form, he may need a bit farther in time. Artic John looks interesting from a stable who do well in these contests, however we will stick with Ridgeline to make good use of his experience and lead them home.
