Plenty of these come here with solid claims and, with the presence of Justalord in the field, it is sure to be run at a fair old gallop. However, as John Balding's charge is set to race off a 6lb higher mark than when winning at Musselburgh earlier in the month he is reluctantly passed over; despite his favourable position regarding the draw. Salviati fits the bill as likely contender here and he is fancied to get the better of stablemate Beyond Calculation and course specialist Strensall, who will do well to go close from the worst of the draw. Sharp Hat and Blessingindisguise go well here and are respected, whilst a move for Zuhair before he heads off to his beloved Goodwood will be interesting. But Salviati is incredibly well treated at present and his first visit to the North Yorkshire course could help to keep him focused in the closing stages. The booing of Kevin Darley is also a big plus.
