Jay Kay took advantage of a drop down the weights to end a losing run on soft ground at Ayr. He’s at the right end of the handicap but hasn’t won outside of Scotland since 2014. START TIME ran very well in the Bronze Cup at Ayr considering 6f is probably short of his best. He beat Our Charlie Brown over this trip at Thirsk earlier and could resume winning ways in his current mood, though Amplification looks a threat as he was probably given too much to do when just behind Explain and Falmouth Light at Ayr. Magic City has been running better than form figures would suggest and is back on a winning mark so it would be no surprise to see Mick Easterby’s charge in the firing-line with Zeyzoun also deserving of a mention.
