The return to this venue can see JEHU come good again for Mick Channon, while Tominator and Iron Velvet are among the dangers. Beaten in a Ffos Las claimer a week ago, Jehu had previously proved his worth when winning over this course and distance on soft ground in July, and he races from just 1lb higher today. He also acts on fast ground and now dropped back in trip he looks up to the task. Iron Velvet is still open to plenty of improvement and is 3lbs lower than when thrashed at Ripon. Prior to that he had won here over 6f on fast ground from a mark of 70 and there is no reason why he can't get closely involved once more. One previous try over this trip, however, proved abortive. Reg Hollinshead saddles Tominator, who looked out of his depth at York from a mark of 83. He is 2lbs lower here but also needs to prove himself on fast ground. Gold Fix is the stablemate of the selection and took a reasonable Epsom handicap over this trip last time on slower ground. She has already won a course and distance seller, however, and she should get competitive. Jehu is the one for us.
