A competitive bumper rounds off the card and as usual the betting will be the best guide as to what is expected of the newcomers, but the principles look to be Flying Falcon, Spring Gamble and Broctune Melody, and we will side with the first mentioned. The 4-year-old from the Venetia Williams yard was a good third at Folkestone behind Winsley. He weakened close home on that day, but this sharper track should suit and he will be hard to beat. Spring Gamble was third behind Country Classic last time. However he looks as though he will be suited by further and for that reason is opposed here. Broctune Melody is a well-bred gelding from a yard that has a good record in this sphere, but he showed precious little on his debut and may do better in time. Of the remainder, Armagh South is from a shrewd yard and is worth noting in the market, but we are happy to side with the more experienced Flying Falcon.
