In depth

Verdict

A wide open handicap in which Grattan Lodge, Celioso and Weaver George should all go well, but we will side with Grattan Lodge. The 6-year-old from the bang in-form Howard Johnson yard improved out of all recognition last season and rounded off the campaign with a good win over Sireric. He goes well fresh and is taken to continue on the upward curve. Celioso won well last time out when defeating Urban Hymm but that was in a novices chase and he will find this handicap much more competitive. Weaver George is well-weighted on his best form and ran as if about to return to form when second Benrajah last time, so should go well. Bustling Rio is from a yard in form but was very disappointing last time out so cannot be backed with any confidence, while Behavingbadly is a course and distance winner but may need this, his first run in 272 days. This is a difficult race to call, but we are happy to stick with Grattan Lodge.
