Verdict

It took Anightinlambourn seven attempts to get off the mark but Ben Pauling’s mare had a bit in hand at Wincanton, though is 8lb higher. A couple of less-exposed types head the weights and VELASCO would have been placed in all three starts this term had he not fallen at Ayr in November. The handicapper has taken no chances but Tom Lacey’s gelding gets the nod ahead of File Illico, who will need to up his game. Bioverdia should appreciate the step back up in trip and she will strip fitter for her run here in December.
