In depth
Verdict
Both Pop The Cork, disappointing last time at Wetherby, and recent Taunton winner Pyramid Place were entered yesterday at Warwick. Finisk River has won twice and finished second three times in novice company and Theo Gillard’s claim should aid his cause as he makes his handicap debut but he may find the mare MASKADA (NAP) a tough to crack if she is in the same mood as when comfortably beating a subsequent winner at Newbury. Oscars Leader is tried in blinkers but appears to be firmly in the grip of the handicapper and Diodorus has run since August when he was beaten 24 lengths by Finisk River at Cartmel.
