Distant Past beat Aleef half-a-length at Leicester and has since run well at Ascot. The runner-up is 3lb better off and was nowhere near his best when favourite at York last week. DEMORA (NAP) won a Listed contest at Bath and wasn't disgraced at that level at Doncaster next time so gets the nod with Alistair Rawlinson's claim to help. Ocean Sheridan is best over an extra furlong but he loves soft ground and will be staying on at the finish while Pipers Note won a Class 3 handicap at Ripon in August and has run well at this level subsequently though looks a few pounds high.
