Verdict

Strawberry Patch, Chairman Bobby and Compton Classic are the three for the shortlist and we shall stick with Strawberry Patch. Linda Perratt's stable stalwart continues to knock on the door without quite being good enough and while the price is not likely to inspire, he has more positives than most in what is a difficult race. Chairman Bobby is not the quite the force he once was. He did little wrong when beaten over six furlongs the other day and is more than capable over today's trip. Oeuf A La Neige won a very poor race at Ayr. He is still well treated on old form although consistency is barely his strong suit. Estoille has an interesting booking in Paul Hanagan and is watched in the market. She's Our Beauty would not want any overnight rain. Bahamian Bay won from a favourable draw at Beverley and cannot be written off. A tough race and Strawberry Patch is given another chance to find the winning thread.
