TUSCULUM gets the nod here and is preferred to Lady Pilot and Bijou Dan. The Barney Curley trained gelding won with a bit in hand on his all-weather debut last time and it looks like some of his former ability remains. That win should have raised his confidence and it would be no surprise if he makes it two wins in two outings this year. Lady Pilot has been largely disappointing in two starts since returning to the turf earlier this year. Jim Best's exposed mare had been running off a career high mark and it told. Her last victory came just three starts ago though and in such lowly company she can make the frame here. Bijou Dan looked to have returned to action in good form earlier this year but has failed to build on that performance and was disappointing last time out. On paper he looks better than the remainder, but he has proven a little unreliable in the past Al Azy ran with credit last time, he proved suited by a significant step up in trip and improved on his recent efforts and looks capable of putting pressure on the earlier mentioned but for us Tusculum looks like making it a double.
