      Verdict

Pearson Glen is selected as a sporting option in the finale, with Daniel's Dream, Topwell and Red Cedar others to make room for on the shortlist. Red Cedar put in his best effort to date when finishing third in a similar grade at Sedgefield last week. He is open to improvement and can go close if he handles the ground. Topwell has yet to live up the spark he showed when winning a bumper last December. Still, he is only a five-year-old and has a bit of learning to do. He is one for the future. A similar statement applies to Daniel's Dream, who could be the surprise package after running a blinder at Kelso three weeks ago. He is one to bear in mind at the likely odds. Nevertheless, Pearson Glen has shaped as if his turn is not too far away with a string of consistent efforts and, as he has the edge in terms of experience, he may prove too wily for the rest on this occasion.
