Verdict
A number of these don't appeal as chasing types and this looks an opportunity for THE ABSENT MARE (NAP) to finally get her head in front over the larger obstacles after a string of consistent placed efforts. Her problem is that she tends to find little when let down so her chance is likely to be dependent upon the ability of Tom Scudamore to finesse her challenge to the split second up this inordinately long run-in. Carters Rest may be well into the veteran stage but his form and enthusiasm remain undimmed and he went very close when reeled in late on at Sedgefield after looking all over the winner. He'll go well again if in the same vein of form, likewise Pindar, a staying-on third in that Sedgefield contest.
