In a weak race Beehive Lad is probably the most sensible selection to score from Occam and Pendant. The top weight generally travels well in his races but finds little close home but is taken here to win due to the lack of quality in his opponents. Occam's form figures look good on paper but on closer examination he seems an inconsistent sort who may not act on the surface. However he generally completes and will take advantages of any below par performances from any of his rivals and the jockey booking looks positive. Pendant has been tried over a variety of trips and has form over this distance. If he goes on the surface then he does warrant a slight danger to the selection. This, however, is a race not to get too heavily involved with on a day where there are plenty more betting opportunities.
