CANFORD THOMPSON was never properly competitive here on Saturday when beaten about 10l into fourth place by course specialist Beeno. He did stay on quite nicely in the closing stages though and Billy Garrity now claims a useful 7lb. Crucially, he drops down two grades here and has decent claims if all's well after Saturday's exertions. Frightened Rabbit is an in-form performer from an in-form yard and commands the utmost respect as a consequence and rates a potent threat to the selection. Richard Strauss hasn't been in the best of nick on recent starts but it may be worth checking out the unexposed Cool Artist in the market on this first start after wind surgery.
