In depth

Verdict

Golden Jeffrey was close up when unseating his rider in the race won by Wells De Lune here on Friday. The latter now has a penalty but should again beat Captain Brown. Who is looking a light of former days.Beeno has already won three times around here but looks held by Martila, who is two from two on the track, on Kelso running. All Set To Go was back on-song at Stratford but is no certainty to confirm that form with third Ashkoul on 3lb worse terms. Applesandpierres looked a reformed character here in May on his first run for Sophie Leech having been beaten in a seller on his previous start but he is giving 16lb and four years to the far less-exposed LEAPAWAY (NAP). Philip Hobbs’ runner quickened clear at Worcester last week and it looks a good decision to run him under a penalty. Uptown Funk may also have more to offer back over timber.
