Another low-level affair can go to Compton Bay ahead of Soul Provider, Lord Baskerville and Susiedil, with Jacks Delight another to consider. It is with no great confidence that Compton Bay is selected, but his high draw should help his quest to gain a first career win on his belated return to Turf. Mel Brittain's charge has been a regular sight in this sort of company at Southwell for the past two years, and just lately has hinted that success is just around the corner. He was brought wide into the straight when finishing fourth to Tancred Miss over seven furlongs last month, and with a good draw and a bit further to travel now, a bold display is on the cards. Soul Provider had taken on the likes of Aragorn and Dabbers Ridge at Doncaster at the start of the month, so it was no real surprise when she obliged at Nottingham next time. Her fourth trainer George Prodromou has obviously found the key to her but the fact that now carries a penalty will make things tough for her to follow-up. She should hold Lord Baskerville again though on only slightly worse terms, the latter having finished back in third at Colwick Park. Susiedil was a 40-1 winner at Southwell on her debut for David Nicholls in January, while Jacks Delight was third in a claimer there three weeks ago and may be suited by the extra furlong. A tentative vote goes to Compton Bay.
