From a shortlist that contains Blueberry Tart, Farriers Charm, Noora and Vamp, we will side with Blueberry Tart in the opener. Having been dropped a pound by the handicapper for a slightly unlucky run at Leicester in April, Blueberry Tart is conceivably well-handicapped, and certainly has form enough to have her side of the argument heard today. Farriers Charm is edging back towards a winning mark, and at least she knows how to win, but Unsuited, a three-time winner last summer, remains seven pounds above a winning mark today. A return to the best of her maiden form, including a second to Porthcawl over course and distance - albeit it on soft going - would see Noora in with a distinct chance, while Vamp's autumn 2004 form is very solid and she'll strip fitter for her recent Leicester run. If you take Tomobel's second to subsequent 2,000 Guineas runner-up Rebel Rebel literally then she holds good claims, although it would not pay to be too literal with the form, while Marchetta could go well now that her stable is in good form, having shown promise last year. Of the others, Montecito might improve for the step up in trip today but, for the selection, we will stick with Blueberry Tart.
