Ponty Rossa gets the vote over La Vecchia Scuola, Ice Mountain and Tobago Reef. The draw always has to be taken into account at Carlisle, with high numbers over the sprint trip having the advantage normally, and with that in mind, Ponty Rossa should be a major player from stall 15. Tim Easterby's filly caught the eye when only caught close home by Emma's Surprise on her Redcar bow, and even with minimal improvement, should be capable of going one better. La Vecchia Scuola looks the main threat on her short-head second to Vale Of Belvoir at Catterick, but she needs to step up a gear here. Bryan Smart saddles Ice Mountain, drawn in stall nine, and this half-brother to six winners also holds an entry in Redcar's big juvenile contest later this year. It would be no surprise if he were to go close, while Tobago Reef will come on for his Hamilton debut effort but has to overcome a low draw. The market should be noted for the rest, but for the winner we return to Ponty Rossa.
