Dickie Lewis has been making hay of late landing his hat-trick at Kelso last time out and is taken to win again at the expense of Solemn Vow and Benbeoch. The selection is a real stayer that has to have extreme conditions and distances to be seen at his best. He was in winning action at Kelso and Sedgefield over 3 mile 3 furlongs in heavy conditions and this test up the Carlisle hill should suit him down to the ground. Soleemn Vow is winless after thirteen runs but he caught the eye when second to the selection at Kelso last time out and for that has been raised 9 pounds in the weights which was the same amount as the winner. Therefore it is difficult to see the placings being reversed. Benbeoch could throw a spanner in the works as he is lightly raced with only four runs under his belt and ran well to finish second at Ayr last month. He does carry top weight which in these conditions is a disadvantage therefore Dickie Lewis who still looks potentially well handicapped can score yet again.
