Speed merchant Tommy Smith has been running well of late and is fancied to make all here; Chairman Bobby is an obvious danger, while Time N Time Again is another who could run well. The latter did not get the best of runs from a relatively poor draw at Beverley last time, but had earlier run respectably behind Paddywack and has place claims at least on that form.Chairman Bobby has been a model of consistency this season, having been placed on his last four starts since winning over this course and distance in June. He still seems on a fair mark and looks a big danger, but marginal preference goes to Tommy Smith. This top weight loves to blaze a trail and has indicated on his last couple of runs, when second at Pontefract and most recently when sixth in a valuable handicap at Haydock, that his time could be near. He is now racing off the same mark as when winning at York last year, takes a slight drop in class here and is fancied to make all under regular pilot Darren Williams.
