Nonrunner
A chance is taken with Thornaby Green, who gets the nod over Bundy, Linda Green and Westborough. The last named may have been in need of the run on his reappearance and should strip fitter today. He is much better suited to racing on turf and, with previous experience of the course to his name, he looks sure to go close if he handles the predicted firm ground. Linda Green is versatile regarding her preferred ground but may be better with a little give underfoot. Still, she has been placed on good to firm and will be dangerous to ignore. Mick Channon, who sends three runners up for tonight's card, has his string in good order and this daughter of Victory Note is at least capable of making the frame in her bid to pay for the travelling expenses. Bundy has started the campaign well and will no doubt have his supporters. However, he can be unpredictable and is not one to trust implicitly. Pure Imagination, who will be having only his eleventh start and has more scope than most, is also worth a mention. Milton Bradley has been patient with the son of Royal Academy and he will have sound claims if any rain arrives. However, Thornaby Green makes more appeal on the predicted going and, as he has shaped as if his turn is not too far away, he is given another throw of the dice. He won off this mark last summer and has plenty going for him in a wide open contest.
