Stand On Me has the beating of Hollows Mill on running at Ayr last month and, with the better ground today likely to suit him, Peter Moneith's gelding gets the vote to open his account and is preferred to Native Coll. The last mentioned was harshly raised 12lbs for his win here last month and would probably have finished behind Stand On Me in Jefertiti's race at Ayr had the selection not unseated his rider that day so he may have to settle for minor honours. Barney has disappointed in his last two starts and looks best watched at present, while Nortonthorpe Lad is probably a shade high in the weights. Stormy Beech is capable but inconsistent and preference is for Stand On Me.
