In depth
Verdict
In the finale, the vote goes to Mister Nelson ahead of Spitfire Sortie and Darazari Bay. Mister Nelson showed enough on his Hexham debut to suggest that he can win a race of this nature and can go well today. Beautifully-bred, Spitfire Sortie's injury problems have been well chronicled; however, he also has ability, as his debut win at Newcastle testifies and he rates a major player today. A 26,000 euros half-brother to Commanche Quest, Darazari Bay rates as an interesting newcomer, while the likes of Stormont Dawn, Young Smokey and Cavers Glen all showed some promise on their respective debuts and High Moor is very much one to keep an eye on in the betting. Once again, though, the selection is Mister Nelson.
