Peter Niven looks to have unearthed a well-treated sort in Panmure and the Course and Distance winner can take care of Winter Garden and Fiery Peace. The Nicky Henderson cast off has had his fair share of problems but the Scottish handler has been patient and looks to have found his ideal trip after much soul searching. Life will be tougher for him in future handicaps and connections are obviously keen to strike while the iron is hot. Winter Garden is game and consistent in his efforts without ever taking first prize. A second to Latensaani at Hexham reads well in the context of this race but his yard are distinctly out of sorts at the moment. Fiery Peace is frustrating to follow. He appears to travel well on the bridle but finds little off it. Workaway could be a much more livelier danger. He won well at Kelso after being given a positive ride and he could get away from them again if the jockeys allow him a soft lead today. With Panmure in such good heart, it seems difficult to oppose him and we will nominate him as our selection.
