Working on a formline through Aidan O'Brien's Grand Reward, Carrizo Creek has the beating of Bahama Reef and can land this juvenile event. Grand Reward, so impressive at Newbury and now bound for the Coventry Stakes, beat King Carnival and Bahama Reef by six-and-a-quarter lengths and eight-and-a-quarter lengths, respectively, that day. Carrizo Creek then finished two-and-a-half lengths ahead of King Carnival when the selection made his debut at Goodwood. Consequently, Brian Meehan's son of Charnwood Forest is given as the selection. Of the others, Cape Trafalgar is entitled to be competitive while newcomer Come What July has some speed in his pedigree, but we'll stick with the Kieren Fallon-ridden Carrizo Creek.
