Verdict
La Dolfina is selected to be an appropriate winner of a race sponsored by a local Italian restaurant. Only lightly-raced, she seemed to appreciate a step up to this trip at Bath last time - as her pedigree suggested she might - and, with a quicker break, Hughie Morrison's filly has to have a chance off this mark of 72. Eloquent Silence is also lightly raced and won on the all-weather as a two-year-old. She too should appreciate 10 furlongs plus, and although she was unplaced on her seasonal return, the form of that race has worked out very well. Wasted Talent certainly has place claims off a mark of 71, while the well-bred Ambrosine, who is a half-brother to Most Welcome, surely has better to come. Kindness didn't show any real progress for a step up in trip last time, while Blue Symphony appeared to improve for the step up when just beaten last time. From the same mark, and with Kieren Fallon booked, she might give the selection most to do. Luca Cumani's Lady Betambeau has been disappointing so far while the bottom two race from out of the handicap, although Fran Ferris's three-pound claim offsets this for Penny Valentine, who is more-regularly seen on the all-weather.
