A tough finale to the day's action with several of the 20 runners holding claims including Absinther, Duke's View and Lucayan Dancer but the vote, albeit a tentative one, goes to Flaming Spirt. The selection ran well in similar company when finding just Bojangles too good at Newbury last time and a reproduction of that effort here may suffice. Absinther is a consistent performer and is entitled to be thereabouts again but may once more find at least one too good. Duke's View is gradually dropping to a realistic mark and hails from a stable that is in good form right now. He rates a bigger threat than top weight Lucayan Dancer, who may find the burden of 11st 7lb beyond him. Holly Rose has the assistance of Carol Williams but has disappointed of late and of more interest may be the Clive Cox-trained Molly's Secret, although she may ideally want further. Chubbes was claimed out of Micky Hammond's yard after winning a poor race last time and faces a stiffer task here, while all-weather winner Mister Completely is not certain to reproduce the form back on turf. This is a race were plenty have chances then but the vote goes to Flaming Spirit.
