Grand Welcome gets the vote here with Xeeran and Rasseem put forward as the most likely dangers. The selection has been knocking on the door of late without being able to get his head in front, but he has form on this track and has also shown that he will handle these conditions so he could prove to be the answer to a tricky contest. Rasseem found trouble in running when well beaten at Nottingham last time behind Bon Nuit and had previously run as though she did not handle the soft ground at Redcar. With similar conditions here she looks worth taking on. Xeeran was a fair third behind Safendonseabiscuit last time and she was doing all her best work at the finish that day. This extra furlong should suit and with a good apprentice booked she will not be far away. Monash Lad is from a yard in form and despite top weight, a reproduction of his latest effort which saw him finish fourth behind The Crooked Ring would give him definite place claims and he could go well at a price. However, Grand Welcome has plenty going for him here and sets a fair standard for the rest.
