In depth

Verdict

This should revolve around the topweights, and preference is for Law Maker over Stagnite, with two of Milton Bradley's trio, Fly More and Tomthevic others worth a mention at least. The key to the sixth and final race on the card could be the handicap run here 12 days ago and won by Redwood Star. Law Maker, who had been in good form on the all-weather, was just touched off in second, with Stagnite right behind in third. Law Maker was giving Stagnite seven-pounds then and they now meet at levels, so it is Alan Bailey's charge who gets the vote. He has been in good form on the all-weather, and judged on that latest effort, it will not be long before he opens his account on Turf. Tomthevic was back in sixth last time and has since failed again when turned out quickly at Bath, while Fly More, who finished eighth, has since prevailed at Chepstow, but has a six-pound penalty to contend with. With that in mind, he is not certain to uphold that form over Jasmine Pearl, but in any case has it to do with the selection Law Maker who will be difficult to peg back if leading early.
