    Verdict

De Vegas Kid didn’t really get the run of the race back here last month but the winner has been well beaten since. George Boughey has his string firing on all cylinders with Widaad boosting the coffers at Newmarket on Saturday. She carries a penalty here but may have more to offer. Hover’s win at Goodwood last year came over 1m2f while Captain Claret has come up short in this grade in the past. Echo Beach makes his handicap debut having been gelded since landing the odds at Kempton in the autumn but BONNYRIGG may be better treated. He finished lame when disappointing at Chester on his final start last year and there was plenty to like about his comeback run at Newmarket.
