Little Flute won a Banded stakes race last time and is likely to find the opposition here more exacting so preference is for Pardon Moi, who gets the verdict over Maluti. The selection ran her best race of the season when a one-length fourth behind Cherokee Nation at Lingfield last month and, with the stable in form now, the daughter of First Trump is taken to resume winning ways. Rae Guest's Maluti finished two lengths behind the selection last time and there should not be a great deal between the pair again. The Michael Jarvis-trained Ashstanza has been given a chance by the handicapper and takes a significant drop in trip, however, that smacks of desperation by his handler and of more interest may be Simon Dow's Alizar, who has claims on the pick of her form. Paul Blockley's Red Monarch may do better now that he runs in a handicap but, in all honesty, this looks a poor race and Pardon Moi has an obvious chance.
