Verdict

Red Gala is taken to get the better of Marc of Brilliance and Lunar Landscape in an intriguing contest despite the small field. Sir Michael Stoute had a winning three year old maiden at Newbury on Tuesday and he can follow up here with Red Gala. The son of Sinndar has been narrowly beaten on his last two starts at Kempton and Nottingham and can gain due reward for those near misses here. Lunar Landscape was a touch disappointing when managing only fifth on his debut at Kempton despite being strongly fancied. The Godolphin team are in good form but this would appear to be one of their lesser lights and he is taken on. Marc of Brilliance is an ex-Godolphin horse and was an impressive scorer on his hurdling debut at Fontwell last month. He was placed at Bath and Yarmouth last season so clearly has ability but even his trainer admits his future is over hurdles so it is a slight surprise to see him line up here at all. Red Gala can lead the celebrations.
