An open finale can go the way of Caravel, who is preferred to the likes of Awwal Malika and Postsprofit. The selection was only beaten a head by Alberts Story at Carlisle last time, and although he may do better over further in time, he can gain his compensation for that narrow defeat here. Awwal Malika finished second behind Bajan Pride last time but although she is open to improvement, she never looked like getting to the winner in that Newmarket race. Postsprofit showed improved form behind Hazelnut at Newmarket last time so it seems rather puzzling that he is dropped back in trip today. Blue Mistral is a course and distance winner and could prove best of the rest, but Caravel looks to have solid claims and gets the vote.
